Sedge Island Kayak EcoTour 8/21/22

  • Island Beach Nature Programs IBSP Parking Lot A21 (map)

Arrive curious…Leave Inspired

Did you know……

…….that salt marsh ecosystems, like the ones lining the western edge of IBSP, have more species diversity than tropical rainforests?

……..that IBSP is home to the first marine conservation zone in the State of NJ?

……..that steel magnate Andrew Carnegie planned to develop IBSP into a resort community?

……..that IBSP is a major stopover on the Atlantic flyway bird migration route?

Join us on our most popular Sedge Islands Kayak Eco-tours as expert Naturalists take you on a guided interpretative paddle around the Sedge Island Marine Conservation Zone. You’ll hear fascinating stories about the parks history, learn to identify resident and migratory birds, explore mudflats teaming with life, and be inspired by the stunning natural landscape.

Through Interpretation, understanding; Through understanding, appreciation; Through appreciation, protection.
— Freeman Tilden
