It's time to step back in time and immerse yourself in the captivating tales of World War II at Island Beach State Park! Discover the hidden treasures and remarkable history that lies within this picturesque coastal haven. Brace yourself for an unforgettable journey as we unveil the untold stories of courage, sacrifice, and triumph that unfolded on this very land. 

This history hike will unveil the fascinating coastal defenses that played a pivotal role in safeguarding our shores during WWII. Participants will traverse the authentic and remarkable remnants of bunkers carefully preserved along the stunning beaches of Island Beach State Park. Our knowledgeable guides will illuminate the historical significance of these structures, sharing captivating stories of the brave soldiers who stood their ground against the threat of invasion. 

Things to Know

Where to meet:

Pavilion at Swimming Area #1, approximately 3.5 miles south of the park entrance.

What to bring:

Bring sunscreen, bug spray, water and snack.

Trips will run rain or shine. There will be NO REFUNDS unless the Park cancels the event. No exceptions.
