Join us on for a peaceful Sunset Paddle as expert Naturalists take you on a casual interpretative paddle around the Sedge Island Marine Conservation Zone. Enjoy the calm clear waters and listen to the majestic sounds of the natural world as you make your way through the Spizzle Creek channels. End your journey watching the sunset over the Barnegat Bay like you’ve never seen it before. You wont believe you’re in New Jersey!
COVID-19 Update: We are pleased to offer our public interpretive programs but the following modifications and policies must be followed:
Programs will run at a reduced capacity. Please be patient and check back often to reserve your tickets if your event is full.
We offer tandem (2 person), sit-on-top kayaks. We encourage you to share a boat with family members only.
Masks are REQUIRED. Staff will wear masks at the launch site and when addressing the group in small spaces.
Once we are out on the water, boats must stay 6 feet apart and masks can be removed.
Participants are encouraged to bring your own paddle and P.F.D (personal floatation device).
All equipment will be sanitized between uses.
Must be 14 years or older to participate, minors (14-17) must be accompanied by an adult.
We provide all equipment. Kayaks are open-top tandem 2-person ocean kayaks. You are welcome to bring your own kayak if you prefer, but please give us advanced notice.
No kayaking experience is necessary. We will provide some brief instruction on how to kayak before the program tailored for complete beginners.
Ticket sales will close at 4pm the day before the event.
Tours will run rain or shine. There will be NO REFUNDS unless the Park cancels the event. No exceptions.
Meet your naturalists at parking lot A21, approximately 8 miles south of the park entrance. Parking is limited so please arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the program. Additional parking is located in lot A20.
Please remember to bring your ticket and signed liability form.
