Join expert park historians and volunteers on this exciting new hiking series that explores the rich ecological and cultural history of Island Beach State Park. Each hike will occur in a different location and will focus on a different topic. Join us for one hike or all of them!
Island History Hike #3
Experience IBSP the way the early Lenape Indians did! Learn fascinating facts about how they used the resources for food, shelter and trade. You will drill your own wampum, speak Lenape language and step inside your own Lenape TeePee (also known as a bird blind!)
Things to Know
Where to meet:
Pavilion at Swimming Area #1, approximately 3.5 miles south of the park entrance.
What to bring:
Bring sunscreen, bug spray, water and snack.
Trips will run rain or shine. There will be NO REFUNDS unless the Park cancels the event. No exceptions.
