Join us at the 4th Annual "Conservation Celebration: Sedge Islands" to help celebrate the achievements of the Sedge Islands Marine Conservation Zone at Island Beach State Park. The creation of the Conservation Zone has reduced impacts of personal watercraft on submerged aquatic vegetation that provides a healthy foundation for much of the bay's marine life.
Explore Sedge Island - sign up for the tours and demonstrations at the Nature Center on the day of the event. Environmental activities for kids happen throughout the day at the Nature Center.
In between adventures take time for lunch and sample clams grown in the Conservation Zone, provided by The Friends of Island Beach State Park and ReClam the Bay at the Nature Center - clams will be shucked at noon.
This event is FREE (with paid park entry) and open to the public! Events and tours are on a first-come, first-served basis.
